About this Event
Presenter: Pat Pollock
As schools and districts plan for summer learning experiences and beyond, it is more important now than ever that they do so in ways that center the range of experiences and needs that students will be bringing with them to learning environments.
During this workshop, teachers and building leaders will learn more about how summer breaks also offer opportunities for a reset in unique and purposeful ways.
It is critically important for schools to facilitate intellectually rich and expansive summer learning experiences, for all students, that will engage them, excite them, and support an academically enriching study in the content areas.
Learn more about using content literacy units of study along with hands-on experiences to engage students as readers, writers, thinkers, scientists, historians and researchers. Explore options for at-home learning as well as summer school enrichment experiences. Listen to shared stories about how students often have opportunities for learning growth spurts when surrounded by authentically relevant literature, opportunities to express thoughts and ideas in a variety of ways as well as encouraging conversations about discovering true passions and expertise related to the arts and sciences.
