About this Event
The Longview Cotillion was founded by Mrs. Charles Tomberlain in 1982 when she brought Mr. Dick Chaplin to Longview for the first time. Her granddaughter, Mrs. Ronnie Strong (Morgan), is proud to serve as this years coordinator and maintain a relationship with Dick Chaplin Cotillions. The Chaplin Cotillions are nationally recognized and have been an institution in Dallas for over fifty years. Current Cotillions are being conducted at the Dallas Country Club, Prestonwood Country Club, Royal Oaks Country Club, Eastern Hills Country Club, Hollytree Country Club and others.
Mr. Joseph Cutaia and Mrs. Ronnie Strong, instructors for the Longview Cotillion, teach the importance of good manners at a young age. The program aims to develop social responsibility through enhancing self-confidence. Social awareness, etiquette, poise, posture, as well as traditional and current dance techniques are taught in a fun manner, with the curriculum progressing according to grade level. Individual interest is taken in each child, as each one is considered a unique gift from God. The aim, is to treat each child as a blessing and to teach each one social confidence as a part of well-rounded personality development.
