THE STORY OF THE “PIG WALK”
John Aynsley was Mayor of Longton from 1886. During that time he raised money and land for Queen’s Park, Longton, and also for Longton Cottage Hospital.
One of his fund raising activities was to drive a pig through the centre of Longton, which we’re celebrating through Carnival!
