University of Scouting 2024 What is the University of Scouting? The University of Scouting is a leader's learning adventure! It is an action-packed, fun-filled single day of supplemental training where you choose the classes you wish to take. Classes are led by experienced volunteers and professionals who will help you enhance your ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts.
The Latin phrase “ESTOTE PARATI” found on our shield means “Be Prepared.” University of Scouting is designed to help you Be Prepared, further your knowledge, enhance your skills, and grow your network so you can better deliver the Promise of Scouting.
It is time to gather, network, hone your skills, and recharge for another great year of Scouting. To all of those who attended prior year’s University of Scouting, we say “Welcome Back.” To those who are attending for the first time, we welcome you and hope you find your time well spent. We know your time is valuable; we appreciate your willingness to spend it here. We have a dedicated staff that is ready to share experience, knowledge, and ideas to help you deliver a fun and exciting program.
We are continuing our partnership with Tarrant County College – Trinity River Campus and we anticipate many more years at this wonderful facility. Located at 300 Trinity Campus Circle, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. The campus is centrally located in historic downtown Fort Worth. You will discover the campus to be beautifully designed and full of amenities.
Inside the Course Catalog you will find registration information, course fees, and information on the degree program. You will also find the course offerings for each of the Colleges: Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing/Sea Scouts/Explores/OA, Outdoor Ethics and Conservation, General Studies, and Youth Development.
This is the Council’s largest single day training event for adult and youth in Longhorn Council. You will have the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other like-minded individuals in the area. We encourage you to use your time between classes for networking – meet up with old friends and make new friends. The University Midway is a great place for you to learn more about Council programs, training event, Scouting ideas, community partners, and maybe win a prize.
Of course, this event would not happen without the exceptional dedication and support of many volunteers, instructors, administrative staff, and Council Staff. Their efforts to make this a mountain top experience are appreciated.
Participant check-in and walk-up registration begins at 8:00AM. As you might imagine, lines can become quite long. Please don’t wait until the last minute to register!
