About this Event

Interested in learning more about Long-View? Please join us if you are potentially applying for the 2026-27 school year for your child.

Parent Observation Days give you a chance to see Long-View in action.

At many schools, you get to know the school by touring the facility. That's not our aim, and instead we want you to really understand what learning is like at Long-View.

Parent Observation Days give parents who are curious about the school and considering filling out an application a chance to walk in and out of classrooms and see the Long-View approach and what makes our school so special. We'll start with a brief overview of our model and our philosophy and then together we will observe the learners as they work in their academic blocks, punctuating our observations with discussions around what the kids are learning and how the pedagogy supports that learning. You'll leave with a strong sense of our culture, the level of the academics, the depth of understanding the learners are working toward, how central discourse is to our pedagogy, and why our kids love learning.

Parent Observation Days are on select school days through the middle part of the year and are 90 minutes. We feel strongly that we need to limit the amount of people in our space to honor the current students’ needs, as we have open classrooms filled with learners hard at work. Thus, we have limited spots for Parent Observation Days so please sign up early to ensure a spot for this admissions cycle. Unfortunately we can't accommodate everyone who wants to see the school and we appreciate you waiting until next year to attend a Parent Observation Day if your child is not yet of age to attend Long-View. Please sign up for both you and your spouse/partner, if applicable, so that we have an accurate count of all observers. We also kindly ask that you do not bring toddlers or infants; this is very distracting to our students.

You will get a reminder email a few days before, including information on parking. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at: [email protected].

We love inviting people into our innovative learning environment! Get ready to re-imagine school and see thoughtful learning in action.
