Bryan had a couple of objectives when he created Long, Slow, Deep. First of all, Bryan wanted to give students a deep and challenging alternative to the myriad of Vinyasa and flowing yoga classes. He wanted students to have a choice of yoga practices that may not involve Sun Salutations or Standing Series. Bryan wanted to offer students a practice that is utterly potent without focusing on strength, endurance or even building much heat. Secondly,Bryan wanted students to experience the benefits of holding poses a little longer, giving massive areas such as hamstrings, groin, hips, shoulders, etc., more time to release and go deeper into poses. This is truly an amazing routine!! It is by FAR the most difficult class Bryan teaches, yet we rarely leave the floor. The challenge of Long, Slow, Deep is mostly primarily mental but hang in there, be patient and keep breathing deeply and fluidly.
