For this exhibit forget everything you think you know about me. Remove your expectations of what your think I will create. As an artist I create things that I would like to see, but to be honest that idea of the audience and the sale does come into play. But not with this body of work. I'm known as a portraiture artist but I wanted to create work without the human form. I wanted to take creative risks, I wanted to toe the edge, embrace the uncertainty and live with the anxiety. I write within my sketchbook often, I wanted to see if I could start with my writings and produce visuals from my text.
I’m painting with such freedom that I don’t care if anyone understands or likes this body of work. I’m creating this exhibit for me. For my growth, for my self discovery. I've found a sweet spot within my art, and people are responding to it, but I don't want to play it safe as an artist. I'm willing to risk it all to provide the work that I've in head for while, but was hesitate to produce. Time isn't guaranteed and I'm going after what I really want in life, and at the core it's simple; LONG LIFE QUICK DEATH.
