About this Event
Join a Long Island City Walk & Talk to build a strong parks system! New Yorkers for Parks and the Play Fair Coalition will be joined by Council Member Julie Won, Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, Court Square Civic Assoctiation and other local partners, who will explore how parks, greenways, the waterfront and open spaces are shaping the future of LIC and why investing in the public realm matters for health, safety, and climate resilience.
Meeting Point: The Baseline (Jackson Ave. & Dutch Kills St.)

This approx. 1.2 mile walk (with stops) will be entirely outdoors. As we move through key sites in LIC, local advocates and community leaders will highlight:
- Park system wins that show what’s possible with sustained investment.
- Infrastructure needs & opportunities for safer, greener, and more connected public spaces.
- Climate-smart solutions that protect communities today and tomorrow.
