Welcome to the Long Beach Fix-It Clinic!
Long Beach Fix-It Clinics are offered to the community free of charge thanks to LB Recycles, LB Reuses, Algalita, the Long Beach Time Exchange, and Pedal Movement.
Fix-It Clinics are events where volunteer fix-it coaches and community members work alongside one another to attempt repairing an item. Attempting to repair an item before recycling or disposing of it is a great waste reduction practice. In alignment with LB Reuses’ mission to reduce single-use plastic and overall waste through engagement, advocacy, and collaboration on reuse initiatives, we aim to work with organizations and the community to facilitate knowledge and tool sharing so that items may be repaired and given a new life. Community members can bring broken items such as electronics, bicycles, watches, jewelry, toys, clothes, and small appliances.
In 2024 alone, we served nearly 300 community members and diverted over 2,000 lbs of waste from the landfill!
*We accept walk-ins, but encourage people to RSVP in advance to help our volunteer fixers to plan ahead and know what tools to bring!
