In this Event:

Connection is essential to our emotional and mental well-being, yet so many of us feel lonely, misunderstood, or disconnected, even when we’re surrounded by people.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore what real connection actually is (and what it isn’t), why our brains and bodies are wired to need it, and how disconnection shows up emotionally, physically, and relationally.

Together, we’ll break down:

The different types of connection, What neuroscience and body-based research tell us about connection, safety, and regulation, Common barriers to connection, Why surface-level interactions often leave us feeling empty, and what actually helps us feel seen and understood.

We will engage in guided reflection, experiential exercises, and gentle interactive practices designed to help you notice how connection feels in your body, identify what gets in the way, and explore small, realistic ways to cultivate deeper connection in everyday life.

Whether you’re craving deeper relationships, feeling emotionally distant, or simply curious about why connection feels harder than it used to, this workshop offers insight, relief, and a chance to reconnect in a safe, supportive space.

About the Presenter:
Sarah Brino, LCPC, is a professional counselor licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Wyoming. For close to two decades, Sarah has specialized in supporting adults through grief and loss, major life transitions, and the emotional challenges that accompany complex health issues. With extensive experience across private practice, community-based programs, and leadership roles, Sarah brings both depth and practicality to her work with clients. Her approach is grounded in the belief that each person’s inner wiring is unique and that pain is an inherent part of being human, not a personal failing. She believes that safe connection provides a rich space for people to be seen and heard in important ways and she works collaboratively with clients to explore how their history, strengths, and circumstances shape their experiences. Sarah prioritizes helping clients build the autonomy and agency needed to move toward a life that feels aligned and meaningful. Through a flexible, integrative lens drawing on modalities such as DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and interpersonal neurobiology, Sarah offers a steady, compassionate presence as clients navigate what comes next.
