*TICKETING & DOOR POLICY*
Whilst we occasionally run ticketed Friday Night Specials, entry for our regular weekly Thursday club nights is on a first-come-first-served basis and unticketed and we do not take advanced seat bookings.
Entry for regular club nights is free, we pay our guests by way of a *CASH* collection. Whilst we understand that some simply haven't the means to make a contribution and absolutely DO NOT wish to exclude them, we expect those who can to make as generous a donation as they are able in recognition of our guest's work.
*PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATES BEFORE SETTING OUT*
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs, illness, weather and other unexpected things can spoil the best made plans. We may sometimes have to change our guest at short notice, or even cancel an evening altogether. To avoid disappointment please re-visit the relevant night's event for updates *BEFORE* setting out.
*LONAN
Lonan are a Yorkshire-based folk trio who perform a mixture of traditional and original material. Bringing together the varied musical backgrounds of Robin Timmis (guitar, fiddle, vocals), Katy Ryder (flute, whistles, vocals) and Evan Davies (mandolin, vocals), they explore a mutual love of folk and traditional music, particularly that of the British Isles.
The band is made up of accomplished and versatile musicians, whose other projects currently include The Often Herd (Winners of the European band contest – La Roche Bluegrass Festival 2018), klezmer band Kibitz, and the Captain Bullhead Ceilidh band. They are currently touring their debut album “Forever Has Flown” which was recorded over lockdown and released on 26th August at Seven Arts, Leeds. The album consists of a mixture of self-penned songs, reflective covers and fresh interpretations of traditional song.
The band will be releasing a new album ("Oddy Locks"), downloadable from their Bandcamp page, on October 3rd.
“Wonderful vocal harmonies, delicate arrangements and slick musicianship. With bags of personality and an infectious passion for great folk music, Lonan are a trio not to be missed!” Marc @ MEWL Music
