About this Event

P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Lolá Ákínmádé Åkerström to celebrate and discuss her new book, : a story about a mother and daughter divided by long buried secrets, struggling to understand each other as they forge their own paths.

Lolá will be joined in conversation by Jordan Hernandez. Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Lolá will also sign copies of her book.


ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Nigerian-American Lolá Ákínmádé Åkerström is an award-winning travel writer, speaker, photographer, and author of the international bestseller In Every Mirror She’s Black and Everything Is Not Enough. She is based in Stockholm.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR

Jordan Hernandez founded Completely Booked in 2020, a celebrated literary movement championing diverse voices. Her multi-platform community has earned national recognition, with features on Oprah's Book Club and The Today Show. Completely Booked includes a book club with live author discussions, engaging events, and social media platforms. Beyond this work, Jordan serves as Director of Content Marketing, contributes to The Local Girl Media, and actively advocates for fitness and community service initiatives.

  • Doors open at 5:00pm, with the talk starting around 5:30pm.
  • Books will be available for purchase at the event.
  • Cost of a $5 general admission ticket can be applied towards your purchase.
  • Cost of a book bundle ticket reflects the total cost of the feature event book (MSRP plus tax). Each book bundle ticket guarantees ticket holders one (1) copy of the feature event book.
  • The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.
