About this Event
Lola Kirke’s Trailblazer is a celebration of individuality and self-discovery. “Sometimes you gotta write the songs you need to hear,” Kirke says of the title track, which challenges the pressure to conform. The album blends classic country with ethereal soundscapes, opening with the affirming line: “When you feel like a failure, baby, you’re a trailblazer.”
Released alongside her memoir Wild West Village, the album reflects Kirke’s unconventional path from London to Nashville. Teaming up with Grammy-winning producer Daniel Tashian, she embraced authenticity, ditching the Southern accent to discover her true voice. Highlights include personal tracks like “Bury Me in New York City,” the Pretenders-inspired “Raised by Wolves,” and family-focused songs such as “Zeppelin 3” and “Mississippi, My Sister, Elvis, and Me.”
Kirke’s trailblazing spirit has earned her sold-out shows, a Stagecoach debut, and an Opry performance wearing June Carter’s dress. With Trailblazer, she invites listeners to embrace their own uniqueness, blending heartfelt storytelling with a genre-bending sound.
