In 2020, clarinetist Graeme Steele Johnson discovered the unpublished manuscript of a forgotten, 127-year-old octet by Boston-based composer Charles Martin Loeffler (1861-1935) in the archives of the Library of Congress. Johnson spent a year reconstructing the octet's score from the 75-page manuscript, creating the first critical edition of the music, which will be performed by a stellar lineup of soloists. Scored for two clarinets, harp, two violins, viola, cello and double bass, the project was profiled in a full-page spread in the Washington Post, named BBC Music Magazine's "Chamber Choice," as well as one of the "Best Classical Albums of 2024" by The New York Times, Gramophone, Apple Music and Tidal. *Post-concert Q&A immediately following the performance
