Locking is a funky dance form that Don “Campbellock” Campbell created in Los Angeles in the early 1970s. Jimmy" Scoo B Doo" Foster was the first person to learn the dance from Don. They frequented night clubs in Los Angeles like Maverick's Flat then made their way on to the TV show Soul Train, helping to popularize Locking nationally. Scoo B Doo added his own signature steps to Locking such as the Scoo-B-Doo, Scoo-B. Walk, and the Scoo-Bot to name just a few. He then joined the dance group "Something Special," which performed internationally, and is credited wtih introducing Locking in countries like Japan
Scoo B Doo has continued to perform & teach internationally, most recently in Bangkok Thailand, and is coming to Boston later this month to share his vast knowledge of Locking with all of us.
