About this Event

The Rachel Hall Band is proud to present their debut album, “Neurotica” (2024). This genre-bending album transitions from Blues to Soul to Rock to Americana, while Rachel’s powerhouse vocals provide a distinctive common thread. Although it is her debut release, Rachel Hall is no stranger to the Baltimore/DC music scene. She began performing solo acoustic at the age of 17 after growing up in two musical families. By age 22, she joined the acoustic rock trio The Damsels, releasing their album “Ashes” in 2006. After staying home to raise a family, Rachel joined the local classic rock cover group 8 Track Mind, followed by her desire to start her own project emerging from the shadows of the pandemic. The Rachel Hall Band played their first show in April 2021 and immediately recognized the magical potential of the combination. This powerhouse group consists of Warren Boes from the All Mighty Senators on guitar, with Carl Filipiak’s rhythm section featuring Matt Everhart on bass and Frank Young on drums. One reviewer writes, "Neurotica is a dynamic and emotional musical journey. It spans intense tracks like “Karma Shoes,” roots-driven tunes like “Dark Horse,” hypnotic sounds in “Walk Through It,” and softer, sensual songs such as “Unspoken Love” and “Beautiful Divine.” A standout is the reflective “Crying Tree.” Rachel Hall’s commanding vocal range—evoking Janis Joplin's grit and Linda Ronstadt's sweetness—is complemented by an exceptional lineup of seasoned musicians whose collective expertise elevates the album. Fans like me eagerly anticipate what the band will create next." (Beth Faye, WHFC 91.1)
