What are movie critics’ favorite films adapted from Library of America classics? In this special free holiday LOA LIVE program, five opinionated cinephiles debate the silver screen versions that equal, surpass, or fall fascinatingly (and sometimes hilariously) short of their source material.

Join acclaimed movie mavens Justin Chang, Farran Smith Nehme, Carrie Rickey, Gene Seymour, and Mike Sragow for a lively survey of must-see films based on LOA works: noir masterpieces, historical dramas, gritty Westerns, family sagas, Technicolor musicals, gripping adventures, chilling horror, and much more.

There will be a brief Q&A at the end of the program; you will be able to type a question and submit it to the event moderator.

Registration is required to attend this event. After registering on Eventbrite, you will receive a confirmation email from Zoom with instructions on how to join the presentation. We ask that you download the Zoom app in advance for the best user experience.

After the event, as a thank-you for your generous support, all attendees will receive a recording of the program and a 20% off coupon to use on their next purchase of books from the LOA Web Store.
