Event Overview
Ready to hit the slopes for the first time? Latino Outdoors is partnering with Breckenridge Ski Resort for a one of a kind intro to skiing and snowboarding! Designed for beginners and families, this experience makes getting on the mountain easy, fun, and stress-free.
Included as part of this experience are ...
- Transportation to Breckenridge Resort (from Golden, CO)
- Lessons with certified ski intructors (including spanish speaking instructors)
- Lift tickets
- Gear rentals
- Lunch at one of Breckenridge Resort's eateries

Eligibility & Ticket Details
- This event is for beginners only. A separate event for more experienced skiers and snowboarders will take place on March 7th.
- Families are welcome to attend. Each member of the family must have a ticket reserved and must fill out the registration information in full.
- Tickets will become available on Friday, Jan. 9th at 12pm MST.
Youth Participation Guidelines
- Youth must be at least 5 years old to participate.
- Youth who are 16 years old or older must register using an adult ticket.

Itinerary*:
- 7:00am: Participants Arrive in Golden for transportation to Breckenridge and for Check-in.
- 7:30am: Bus Departs Lot/Golden.
- 9:50am: Bus Arrives at Breckenridge.
- 9:50am-11:55am: Time to use restrooms, check-in, grab rentals, & eat lunch.
- 11:55am: Everyone circles up for Important Information and Introductions.
- 12:30pm: Lessons begin.
- 3 pm: Lessons End.
- 3:30pm: Participants get back on bus to return to Golden.
- 6:00 pm: Bus arrives at the parking lot in Golden.
*Times are subject to change based on weather and road conditions. We have added buffer time as a precaution.
Travel and Parking Info:
Winter travel to Breckenridge can be long and challenging, so we’re offering free round-trip transportation from the Front Range, with a chartered bus departing from the Golden area to Breckenridge.
We will share more information about transportation after registration, but we anticipate the bus will leave Golden at 7:30am in order to arrive to Breckenridge by 10am.
Driving Separately?
If this is your first time traveling to Breckenridge Ski Resort, we recommend allowing an additional 1–2 hours for travel, as drive times can be longer during ski season. Participants who are driving themselves should plan to park by 10:00 AM to allow ample time for parking, check-in, gear pick-up, and lunch. Parking can be challenging during peak hours, so arriving early will help ensure a smooth start to your day. We will share more information about parking in Breckenridge, but please note that free parking is limited.
Please let us know in your registration if you are planning to drive separately.
Check-in & Rentals:
Individuals who are riding the bus will be able to complete check-in before boarding the bus and will be directed to rentals and lunch upon arrival. Individuals who are planning to drive separately will be directed to Latino Outdoors volunteers at Breckenridge Ski Resort in order to complete check-in before grabbing lunch and rentals.
Free rentals are available for anyone who needs skis, a snowboard, boots and a helmet. This information will be shared after registration.
If you do not arrive by the time check-in closes at 11:55 we cannot guarantee that you will be able to take a lesson.
Lessons:
Lessons will begin at 12 pm and end at 3pm. After the official programming ends we will direct people to return rental gear and board the bus by 3:30pm for drop-off in Golden.
What to Bring:
After registration, participants will receive a document with detailed information on what to expect and tips to help you prepare for the event.
Mountain temperatures are often colder than along the Front Range, so please come prepared with proper winter layers to stay comfortable while spending several hours outdoors. We recommend reviewing this video on how to dress for the mountain to ensure you’re ready for changing weather conditions.

Requisitos y detalles de las entradas Eligibility & Ticket Details
- Este evento es solo para principiantes. El 7 de marzo tendremos un evento aparte para esquiadores y snowboarders con más experiencia.
- Las familias son bienvenidas. Cada miembro de la familia debe tener una entrada reservada y completar toda la información de registro.
- Las entradas estarán disponibles el viernes 9 de enero a las 12:00 p. m. MST.
Normas de participación para jóvenes
- Los jóvenes deben tener al menos 5 años para participar.

¿Viaja en su propio vehículo?

Registro y alquiler de equipo:
Las personas que viajen en autobús podrán registrarse antes de subir al autobús y, al llegar, se les indicará dónde recoger el equipo de alquiler y dónde almorzar. Quienes planeen conducir separados deberán dirigirse a los voluntarios de Latino Outdoors en la estación de esquí de Breckenridge para completar el registro antes de almorzar y recoger el equipo de alquiler.
Hay equipo de alquiler gratuito disponible para quienes necesiten esquís, tabla de snowboard, botas y casco. Esta información se compartirá después de la inscripción.
Si no llegas antes de que cierre el registro de entrada a las 11:55, no podemos garantizar que podrán participar en la clase.
Clases:
Las clases comenzarán a las 12:00 p. m. y finalizarán a las 3:00 p. m. Una vez finalizado el programa oficial, se les indicará a los participantes que devuelvan el equipo y suban al autobús antes de las 3:30 p. m. para el regreso a Golden.
Qué llevar:
Después de la inscripción, los participantes recibirán un documento con información detallada sobre qué esperar y consejos para prepararse para el evento.
Las temperaturas en la montaña suelen ser más bajas que en la zona de Front Range, así que por favor, vengan preparados con la ropa de invierno adecuada para estar cómodos durante varias horas al aire libre. Recomendamos ver este video sobre cómo vestirse para la montaña para asegurarse de estar preparados para los cambios climáticos.
