About this Event

Local New Orleans writers Jorge Arturo and Carolyn Hembree will be joined by visiting author Samantha Hunt. It'll be a night you won't want to miss! This event is supported in part by Poets & Writers.

Carolyn Hembree is the author of Skinny and Rigging a Chevy into a Time Machine and Other Ways to Escape a Plague, winner of the Trio Award and the Rochelle Ratner Memorial Award. Her third collection, For Today, is forthcoming from LSU Press. Her poems appear in Beloit Poetry Journal, Copper Nickel, Poetry Daily, The Southern Review, and other publications. She teaches at the University of New Orleans and serves as the poetry editor of Bayou Magazine.

Samantha Hunt is an American novelist, essayist, and short-story writer. She is the author of The Dark Dark and The Unwritten Book, published by Farrar, Straus, Giroux; The Seas, published by MacAdam/Cage and Tin House; and the novels Mr. Splitfoot and The Invention of Everything Else, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
