Beginner Class, Week 12
Chernobyl Ant. The Chernobyl Ant is a terrestrial dry fly that imitates a large, struggling ant, grasshopper other land-based insect that has fallen into the water. Its vibrant foam body and exaggerated profile make it highly visible to fish, especially in fast-moving streams where ants or other insects are often blown into the water. The fly attracts fish with its splashy presentation and large, buoyant body, making it a great choice for surface-feeding trout. It should be fished with a series of quick, twitching retrieves or a natural drift along the edges of streams, near overhanging vegetation or riffles.
