Llanidloes Green Fair with eco stalls, funding advice, coffee & cakes in the morning and The Generation Game, where you get to manage the UK electricity supply, in the afternoon! The Green Fair stalls run from 10am – 2pm with a wide variety of stalls showcasing local organisations which champion sustainability and protect our fragile world. There will also be affordable gifts and pre-loved clothes and the National Lottery will have a stall providing funding advice for local organisations.
From 2-5 you get a chance to play The Generation Game which has been developed by Richard who has worked all his life at the National Grid. In small teams you get to decide what sort of energy you want to buy - wind/solar/nuclear/ hydro or gas. Then you try to power the UK for a whole year with your chosen mix. Have you bought the right mix? Will the wind blow or the sun shine? Will you have to buy in extra gas or hydro? It's great fun but best of all are the discussions around the table.
Suitable for age 10 and upwards - do come and join us! No booking needed but do come promptly at 2pm for the game. Free refreshments available.
