An evening of choral music in the setting of Llandaff Cathedral brings together two of its ensembles: the Choristers and adult singers of the Llandaff Cathedral Choir, with the adult voluntary choir Majestas Consort.The programme reflects a breadth of the choral repertory, with music by Brahms, Sumsion, Bairstow and Leighton, alongside works by the Renaissance composer Tomás Luis de Victoria.
The performance concludes with Benjamin Britten’s cantata Rejoice in the Lamb, a work known for its originality, depth and moments of quiet joy.
Set within a place where music has long formed part of its life, this concert offers the opportunity to hear this repertoire within the Cathedral’s distinctive acoustic.
