Trail racing comes to Lake Havasu Oct 18th. The Lizard Peak Scramble is a short yet challenging 10k/5k trail run and scramble to the summit of the infamous Lizard Peek.
Come join us for a great morning on the trails. Run or hike or race, cross the finish line to earn your finishers medal 🏅 and then grab that cold Mudshark Brewery finish line beer 🍺.
This is a Moderately hard course on the front end due to some elevation gains getting to the peak and section of rock scrambling.
10k and 5k runners will have a staggered start.
This course has a little bit of everything from single track, to loose gravel, sandy washes, elevation gains and more. You’ll gain 548 feet of elevation in under a half mile as you climb towards the peak. A short but vertical rock wall scramble will test participants agility, nerves and teamwork with Lizard Peak summit towering over head.
Once at the infamous summit runners may take a second to snap a pic, get a “peek” of the giant lizard rock formation 500 feet below or take in the 360° panoramic views of the City and blue waters of Lake Havasu.
A steady descent down the switchbacks will take runners around the mountain before the course splits, sending 5k runners back toward the finish line and 10k runners out to the shores of Lake Havasu at Balanced Rock Cove. 10k runners will be greeted by the shimmering blue waters of Lake Havasu marking the near halfway point.
Official event shirts will be available with proceeds going to “A Clear Path Forward”non profit addressing Firefighter Mental Health and wellness.
