The 100-hour training is ideal for dedicated practitioners seeking to deepen their personal practice, or as the first step toward full certification. This immersive journey offers a strong foundation in:
Basic asana alignment and safe modifications
Introduction to pranayama and meditation
Core yoga philosophy: the Eight Limbs of Yoga, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras
Functional anatomy and breath
Ethics, self-inquiry, and personal sadhana
Outcome: A transformative introduction to the path of yoga, fostering confidence, embodiment, and self-awareness. You will also be equipped to teach a full grounded and well rounded yoga class within this first 100 hours.
200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Complete Certification – Teaching Skills & Inner Transformation
This Yoga Alliance-recognized program prepares students to teach with authenticity and clarity. Building upon the 100-hour base (or as a complete 200-hour immersion), trainees explore:
Intelligent sequencing and cueing
Detailed alignment and hands-on assists
Pranayama, mantra, and meditation practices
Teaching methodology and voice cultivation
The subtle body: chakras, nadis, koshas, vayus
Ayurveda and the yogic lifestyle
Inclusive teaching and trauma sensitivity

300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

Designed for certified 200-hour teachers, this advanced training dives deep into the heart of yoga as a tool for spiritual evolution, therapeutic healing, and social transformation. Areas of study may include:
Advanced asana, assisting, and sequencing
The art of theming and storytelling

In-depth study of sacred texts and Sanskrit

Jo Gibbon
Jo Gibbon is a 1000 hour, highly experienced and respected senior yoga teacher with over a decade of teaching experience. Her rich and diverse training includes qualifications in Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Aerial Yoga, and Yoga Therapy, allowing her to offer a dynamic, inclusive, and deeply nourishing practice for students of all levels.
Her classes are playful yet purposeful. They are grounded in anatomical awareness, mindful movement, uplifting playlists and a deep respect for the individual needs of each student. She is passionate about making yoga accessible and empowering for all, offering a space that encourages growth, connection, and self-awareness.
Since 2012, Jo has been sharing her passion and expertise by facilitating Yoga Teacher Trainings at Living Yoga, guiding and inspiring the next generation of yoga teachers with wisdom, warmth, and clarity. She is forever grateful for this opportunity and humbled to be considered a teacher of teachers.
Sarah Bentz
Sarah Bentz is the owner and lead teacher of Living Yoga, an independent yoga school and sanctuary in Parkwood, Johannesburg. With over 18 years of experience guiding students through the transformational practices of yoga, Sarah brings a grounded yet soulful approach to her teaching, rooted in deep study and lived experience.
A 1000-hour certified teacher, Sarah holds advanced certifications in Jivamukti Yoga, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hatha, and Yoga Therapy. Her classes and trainings are infused with rich storytelling, ancient philosophy, mantra, pranayama, and functional alignment—bridging the sacred with the everyday.
After leaving a career in the South African film industry, Sarah followed her calling to study and teach yoga full time. Since then, she has led countless trainings, retreats, and mentorship programs, building a thriving community of practitioners and teachers.
Known for her devotional teaching style and intuitive guidance, Sarah creates brave, beautiful spaces for growth, healing, and self-inquiry. At Living Yoga, she continues to inspire students to live their practice both on and off the mat—with presence, compassion, and purpose.
Schedule
3 months part time with lectures happening weekly one evening and weekends
60 hours of practice time is expected during this time (attending classes on the schedule)
Lectures are held live in Parkwood and online and recorded - however 80% physical attendance is required unless previously negotiated.
