About this Event
The Living Soils Workshop is offered as part of the "Fresk Jam" which is a spin-off of the classic "Culture Jam", created by Apocapoc BCN and hosted in Nest City Lab - a culture lab promoting regenerative habits and sustainable practices which facilitate a lifestyle that reduces our ecological footprint on a daily basis and encourages us to have a positive impact on the world.
In this interactive two and a half hour workshop developed with scientific vigour we will work as a team to
1. Discover soils’ richness by exploring how they function.
2. Identify the most common farming practices, the context in which they were developed and their impact on soils and the environment
3. Reflect on the actions to be taken from four complementary points of view (roleplay is welcome but not obligatory!)
The methodology of the LSW, https://www.ateliersolsvivants.org/en/ is based on the climate fresk https://climatefresk.org/world/ which has already reached 1.7 million participants worldwide.
It doesn’t involve an expert presenting information to the group; instead, by activating the group's collective intelligence it requires all participants to take an active role in the building-up of the “fresk” using the 30 cards provided.
Both those who know a lot about soil and agriculture and those who nothing will find that they learn a surprising amount.
And if you're inspired to take the journey onwards you can find out how to become a LSW facilitator yourself.
The event is free but you need to book your place.
Places are limited to 8 participants which allows for a good discussion. If you book and then can't attend please be sure to cancel so that someone else can take your place.
