St. Andrew's Fabric Arts and Quilt Show; 406 Hillsboro Ave., Edwardsville; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This annual show is a must-see for those who love quilts!
Mourning Tours and Cooking Demonstrations at the Col. Benjamin Stephenson House, 409 S. Buchanan St. Edwardsville, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Celebrate the Blues at the historic Wildey Theatre with a performance by the Blood Brothers., 252 N. Main Street, Edwardsville, 8 p.m. Order tickets in advance from the theater's website.
Saturday, October 4
The Stephenson House and St. Andrew's events continue and there is a second performance by the Blood Brothers at the Wildey Theatre. In addition:
The Edwardsville Public Library Annual Book Fair is at Edwardsville City Park on the corner of S. Buchanan and Vandalia Streets from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Books of all kinds! They entertain like it's 1910! Music, book authors, used books, food, crafts, and activities, but mostly...BOOKS!
The Edwardsville Cildren's Museum will have special outdoor exhibits and games, plus it's your chance to go inside the Nickel Plate Station! 722 Holyoake Road, Edwardsville, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Yanda Log Cabin Day will be held at 148 S. Main Street in Glen Carbon. From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., enjoy crafters, demonstrations, and family activities, plus the opportunity to tour the cabin.
Sunday, October 5
The fun continues at Edwardsville City Park with a Chautauqua! President U. S. Grant will be there and Sarah Coventry, Edwardsville's first librarian, plus there will be numerous musical groups, and a Civil War Encampment with real horses and numerous vendors. Come join the fun from Noon- 4 p.m.
Sunday night the Wildey Theatre will feature more of the Blues with "Walter Trout" at 8 p.m.
Entry to the Stephenson House and Children's Museum are at their usual rates, but the extra outdoor activities and the train station are free. The quilt show has a $5 admission and tickets for Wildey Performances can be found on its website. The Chautauqua and the Book Fair are both free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
