About this Event
This is a very interactive workshop that meets weekly (2-1/2 hour sessions) for 6 weeks. Participants will learn to:
- Eat well to live well
- Feel better and take charge!
- Handle stress and relax
- Improve communication skills
- Increase endurance, strength, & flexibility
- Increase self-confidence
- Manage symptoms such as pain, fatigue & depression
- Solve problems and set goals
- Use Medic*tion effectively

About the Facilitators
Linda J. Minges, MPH, RD, LDN:
Minges is the Family & Consumer Science Agent with NC Cooperative Extension - Gaston County Center. She is a registered dietitian and provides community programs related to local foods, chronic disease management, nutrition, food safety, and wellness. Minges has been serving the residents of Gaston County for more than 21 years and is passionate about working with older adults and local foods.
Amanda Dawson:
Dawson is an Aging Program Coordinator with Centralina Area Agency on Aging. She provides support for evidence-based health programs and its volunteers across the region. Dawson also assists with piloting the PEARLS program in North Carolina as a PEARLS Coach.
