Moving from the UK to Namibia in 2007 Scott found himself shooting extremely varied subjects in a very different, often harsh environment. The very different, and sometimes unexpected work, coupled with the new digital technology, demanded a total rethink to his photographic technique. The talk begins by examining some of his assignments, exploring the changes to his photography, and dispelling some of the myths that continue to shackle many photographers. In the second half he follows the Orange River, right across Africa, demonstrating how he considers any photographic situation, including the extreme ones, and how he sets the camera accordingly.
Scott still recognises the truths that have been with us since early film yet casts off restrictions and pushes the camera to its limits.
The talk, as usual, is packed with tips and stories from what he sees as the most photogenic country on the planet.
