About this Event

Join LIVES IN TRANSLATION (LiT) and the DESIGN CONSORTIUM (DC) on Thursday, September 26th at 2:30PM for the debut of A FEELING OF ITSELF, our inaugural on-campus exhibition celebrating the art of translation. Coinciding with International Translation Day, this event pays tribute to translators and interpreters who bridge languages and cultures.

Explore the profound theme of cultural belonging through captivating audio-visual displays. Our exhibition title, "A Feeling Of Itself," derives from a recording where an LiT student's brother shares his journey of navigating multiple languages and the unique experience of living in translation.

The unveiling includes talks by linguistic scholars, musical performances, and interactive recordings with the Newark Story Bus. Experience an afternoon of stimulating discussions, immersive audiovisual displays, and diverse culinary delights from represented cultures.
