For the first time in its distinguished history, the Livermore Reads Together program—sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Public Library—will feature a novel by a local author. The community helped select the award-winning "Silver Lies" (Book 1 in the Silver Rush Mysteries series) by Livermore resident Ann Parker as the 2026 Livermore Reads Together featured book.Set in the silver boomtown of Leadville, Colorado, in the late 1870s, "Silver Lies" (Book 1 in the Silver Rush Mysteries series) is a gripping Western mystery that introduces Inez Stannert, a saloon owner with a sharp mind and a hidden past. This is the first time a book by a local author has been chosen for the program—and we couldn’t be more excited!
Community members are invited to borrow or pick up a copy of "Silver Lies" by Ann Parker to join in the exciting Livermore Reads Together events celebrating the West and the American frontier. It’s a wonderful opportunity to read, discuss, and connect with fellow book lovers! 📚 Reserve your copy today at library.livermoreca.gov online from our catalog.
