Today, I’d like to take you on a walk through the PARIS OF THE SECOND EMPIRE, the BELLE ÉPOQUE, in the footsteps of BARON HAUSSMANN. We’ll visit the PLACE VENDÔME, where it all began and ended with the 1871 Commune, then move on to Rue de la Paix for a bit of window shopping, and at the end of the street discover the incredible Paris Opera House, where we’ll explain the principles of Haussmann’s architecture.
