About this Event
Join us for a casual evening outdoor salon in Meridian Hill Park. We'll set up picnic style near the statue of Joan of Arc - an everlasting symbol in the feminism movement. She was just a teenager when she led her army of French soldiers into battle during the Hundred Years War in the 1420s. Joan of Arc would remain a transcendent icon for centuries after her execution. Suffragists in the early twentieth century would ride atop horses and march in parades wearing medieval costumes just as she did. From suffragists to the Equal Rights Amendment and the Women's March, share your experiences with the group or join as an active listener!
Optional what to bring:
- Bring your own picnic blanket, chair, snacks, and beverages!
- Your copy of 111 Places in Women's History in Washington, DC That You Must Not Miss to get signed.
- Think of it as show and tell, bring any feminist literature, books, resources, gifts that you want to share with the group as we discuss feminism in history and modern day!
Membership packages offer benefits and partnership opportunities for live and virtual experiences in THE LINEUP and other TOHO services.
