Novice through Advanced navigation courses will be available.Go out solo, or with friends or family, your Adventure Race team, classmates…ALL ARE WELCOME!
SCHEDULE:
9am to 1 pm: Registration at the venue, where you select which course(s) you wish to do and pay onsite. (Schools with JROTC athletes must preregister at our website: www.Florida orienteering.org)
9:30am - 1:00pm: Participants/teams start at the time of their choosing.
Time limit of 3 hours, but all must be back before 3:00 pm when the courses close.
COURSES OFFERED - Course distances to be announced.
YELLOW - for beginners. Course is mostly on trails with control points a short distance into the woods. There may be opportunities for those who feel able to take short cuts through the woods.
ORANGE - intermediate difficulty. Mix of on- trail and off-trail, generally relying on the more obvious mapped features.
GREEN - advanced course off trail and reliant on the subtler features of the terrain.
BLUE - the longest advanced course.
VIOLET: for our Adventure Race friends, this is a longer course with mix of intermediate and some advanced controls, some in overgrown areas
COSTS:
Venue fee: reduced rate of $2/person payable at our registration table along with:
Course fee: $7 for FLO members; $10 for non-members
E-stick timer rental is $3/team for those who don’t own one.
Compass: bring your own or rent one for $2/ each.
