About this Event
Greenlight is delighted to step out of our usual vein of programming to welcome Sara Woster—Brooklyn painter, teacher, founder of The Painting School, and all-around art evangelist—and celebrate her new book, Painting Can Save Your Life. Part The Artist's Way, part Bob Ross, Painting Can Save Your Life welcomes readers into the vibrant world of this transformative art form, inviting them to pick up a brush and discover how painting can help you see the world in a whole new way. Weaving soup-to-nuts instruction on how to paint—from choosing the right materials to painting the human body—with her own story of discovering a passion for painting, Woster shares techniques for painters of all skill levels, playful exercises, tips on building creative community, and insights on how painting can cultivate mindfulness and a sense of calm in a stressful world. Join us for a special summer evening featuring Woster in conversation with a guest to be announced and a live painting demonstration in our Fort Greene bookstore!
