In our tradition of lifting up some of the most exciting new voices in contemporary fiction, Greenlight welcomes writer, photographer, and translator Giada Scodellaro to celebrate Some of Them Will Carry Me, her fiercely original debut story collection that centers Black women in moments of imminent change. Ranging in length, style, and tone—a collage of social commentary, surrealism, recipes, folklore, art—the stories comprising Some of Them Will Carry Me deconstruct intimacy while building a surprising, unnerving new reality of language, culture, consumption, and loss. In the words of acclaimed author Katie Kitamura, “this is a book of wonders, full of intricate beauty." Scodellaro will be joined on our Fulton Street events stage by a special guest to be announced for an event not to be missed.
