Salt of the Earth lives up to their name; a sittin’ on the front porch pickin’, down-home pleasure of a musical combo, mountain music meets classic folk with a contemporary flair. The band is comprised of Dallas Norman on his 100 year old mandolin, weaving his love of Bill Monroe and Tim O’Brien into an improvisational tapestry that includes Mike Lewis on guitar with a fingerpicking style reminiscent of and inspired by Stephen Stills and vocalist Susan Kelly with her throaty renditions of blues, folk rock and singer songwriters painted over with her love of bluegrass.
