Gary Frisch hosts an open mic in Baraboo and plays with many area musicians like Sam Ness and Eric Mobley. He has played with Sacre Blues Band, The Hoot Owls, Brittnie Lee & Liquid Blue, and have sat in with many musicians including Doyle Bramhall II, The Mascot Theory, Mark Joseph, The Rascal Theory, and Derek Ramnarace. Ted Hawkins is a very accomplished musician and one of the best guitar players in the area. He has played with Muddy Waters, BB King, The Temptations, Bobby Bland, Chaka Kahn, and many others.
These two talented musicians play a mix of genres with everything from BB King to Kings of Leon. There is some blues, rock, funk, and country in their set list. Gary and Ted have joined forces four years ago and have many gigs under their belts together. In Ted’s home studio, he lays down drums, bass, rhythm guitar, and keys for backing tracks that Ted plays lead guitar and Gary plays harmonica and sings vocals over, so we sound like a much bigger band with a very full sound.
