Hatsia is a singer/songwriter from Wollongong, NSW Australia. Her music moves between the indie-pop, alt-rock and soul genres.
The piano was introduced to her when she was five by her grandfather. Her youth was spent playing contemporary piano and listening to music by songwriting greats Burt Bacharach, Carol King & Australian icons Paul Kelly, Kev Carmody & Missy Higgins. She’s also inspired by poetry by Oodgeroo Noonuccal, Banjo Paterson, T.S Eliot & Robert Frost.
Writing poetry and then songs from a young age has grown into a life-long love of storytelling and music and has shaped her songs to what they are today. Her sound is a necessary part of her being, her self-expression and method for processing and understanding the world.
