The Redding Library has invited Shasta County’s Klezmer Ensemble: Sheine Nechome (which is Yiddish for “Beautiful Soul”) who will be performing traditional music from the old Jewish “Shtetls” (settlements) in Eastern and Central Europe, Yiddish Theater favorites, and Ashkenazi classics. Sheine Nechome is represented by Helena Gelfor (musical director, violin, and vocals), Gail Pittman-Biehle (vocals), Lisa McCain Cole (bass), Marilyn Traugott (guitar and vocals), and George De Flippo (flute).
