Get ready to dance the night away and immerse yourself in the rhythm of Live Latin Music Night! March 28th, we’re inviting Orquestra Mansplesa to guide us through the night.
At the intersection of tradition and youth, just past Mount Pleasant Street, lies Orquesta Manplesa. Named after the Spanish pronunciation of Mount Pleasant, the 9-piece salsa band is focused on upkeeping the musical tradition of Latinos in DC, especially in this historic neighborhood. Don’t let their ages fool you–the District’s youngest salsa band boasts a collective 5 music degrees from Berklee College of Music, Conservatory Nacional De Música (Dominican Republic), Towson University, and Kenyon College. Orquesta Manplesa lives by one rule: “keep them dancing.” Their eclectic mix of salsa, spanning eras and regions, keeps the dance floor alive all night. Orquesta Manplesa puts into music what it means to be from DC - community and joy above all else.
Jovan Aquino (Rumba-Fi) is a DC-based vinyl DJ specializing in Latin sounds. His collection is carefully curated to bring energetic sets that blend psych cumbia, salsa grooves, funky rhythms, and disco, featuring rare gems designed to keep you moving and immersed in the rhythm! has been captivating crowds for over 16 years with his impeccable mixing and sonic alchemy. Known for his masterful crowd control, DJ Maz will guide the energy of the night with his expertly woven tapestry of Latin rhythms. He’ll keep the vibe flowing before, between, and after the live set from Orquestra Mansplesa, ensuring that the dance floor stays alive and buzzing all night long.
