Live In-Store Performance by Soundoferror

Patchwerks is excited to present a live in-store performance by Soundoferror, aka Daniel Burke & Synthesizers.

Dan has been the founding member of the project Illusion of Safety since 1983. He is currently working in a rotating trio improv format with drummer Erik Sowa (+Jeb Bishop, Cory Bengtsen, and/or Jeffrey Goulet), recording & performing in a synthesizer context as Soundoferror, in an ambient project, Twilight Furniture, and in singer-songwriter mode as Daniel James Burke.

He has collaborated in composition, live performance, or recorded with Jim O’Rourke, Darin Gray, Kevin Drumm, Jeb Bishop, Jon Mueller, & Olivia Block, et. al. Also in ensemble groups CHEER-ACCIDENT, Tertium Quid (w/Bill Horist & Dave Abramson), and Total Sound (w/Chris Block). He makes music videos as Finite Material Context With Soundoferror he is focused on making music exclusively with synthesis of every kind. Hardware, software, modular, & keys. Any form is fair game, though the forms usually tend toward the abstract and experimental. Early influence was Morton Subotnick Silver Apples and Wendy Carlos, Switched on Bach. A few years later Brian Eno, Tim Blake, Steve Hillage, Cosmic Jokers, Klaus Schultz, & Cluster helped form his appreciation for this tool of modern magic.
