British Birds are back for their 2nd and final hometown show of the year - after the success of their sold out single launch in Chorley this April, which was attended by BBC Introducing's Will Wolstenholme and described by him as an "I was there moment". Chorley-based British Birds is a musical collaboration with a DIY ethic and nostalgic charm, rubber-banding us back to physical music creation which stretches the listeners ear and snaps them back to a familiar reality. Proud of their roots, they've packed a punch in their explosive first year as a group which has seen them pack venues out across the country and gain kudos and airtime globally. They combine catchy alt-pop hooks, raw garage energy and lullably-like melody to bring timeless psych-rock with notes of Neutral Milk Hotel, The Vaselines, Ty Segall and B-52s.
They're joined by MCR based outfit Adam Hopper & The Wimps whom have more hooks than a fisherman's tackle box. Forged in the box room of a Ladybarn terraced house and honed in the pub back rooms and small venues of Manchester and the North of England, Adam Hopper & The Wimps provide anti-folk tinged, melodic, pop, equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking. Hopper and his Wimps have already garnered acclaim from Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition Longlist, Rough Trade Counter Culture, Radio X (John Kennedy), When The Horn Blows, Clunk, Blogotheque, Hard of Hearing, Post-Brexit Pop, Wax Music and Backseat Mafia, earning support slots all the while for Jesca Hoop, The Golden Dregs, The Lounge Society, Mr Ben & the Bens and Langkamer.
