Live: I Don\u2019t Like Thursdays White punks on dope!
Our occasional punk/post-punk communal exorcism evening comes around once more.
Wear your best stripey jumper.
This looks familiar... I HATE THURSDAYS (Part 2) sees the welcomed return of @guy_gib, @applemax222, and Zoo Disco to the @tprhull sort-of-stage on Thursday 5th February. If you like loud punk things, this is for you. If you don't like loud punk things, this is your opportunity to sort your shit out and develop your taste in music.
Guy Gibson is best known for being an absolute legend, he's often playing with his band, Complete Control (who are coming to do a very special show for us in May - more details about that later). Not only was he the first man on the moon, he was also the first artist to play on the stage of @the_adelphi_club when it opened in it's current format over 41 years ago. Expect some loud, raw, punk goodness with plenty of nods to The Clash and The Jam.
Applemax is also well known for being an absolute legend. He shares his experiences about very serious issues such as shoplifting on acid, reinventing Lizzo, haunted televisions, and much more through the medium of some beautiful guitaring coupled with some really cool pedals (that I, Meg, will never understand because I'm a bit thick).
Finally, if that wasn't enough, Rob and Rikki of Zoo Disco, who also happen to be absolute legends, will be joining us for the evening. Rob batters the shit out of his guitar in a very coordinated way, whilst Rikki yells some very poignant lyrics, all in time with a magical drum box. They've appeared on the TPR sort-of-stage a few times over the past year, mostly because Rikki came in one night, drank loads of Flensburger, and fancied booking a gig in and we liked him*
Aaaanyways, 8PM start, pay what you like via thankyu, or don't. Either way, come down and support some awesome local artists, and enjoy some excellent tunes.
*that's the best way to get a gig here, especially if you buy the tartan tart behind the bar a pint.
