A native Louisiana artist, transplanted to Lafayette for middle and high school, to New Orleans for college, and then swept up to New York City post-Katrina, Alison Lefevre has established herself as a well rounded live and studio vocalist, pianist, and composer.
Alison began her musical career at age two on top of a coffee table in her great grandmother’s New Orlean’s home during one of their annual Christmas parties. Belting out the songs of Judy Garland and Billie Holiday for the rest of their family’s social events began the groundwork for what has become an entrancing voice. Alison continued to perform and mature as mainly a vocalist–winning talent competitions in middle and high school–so that by the time she moved to New Orleans to begin her college career, she was able to slide right into the music scene. She enjoyed performing and recording with musicians like Brian Seeger, Ellis Marsalis, Brian Coogan, Joshua Paxton, David Ellington, Theresa Anderson, and Charles Dennard. In her academic life, she studied vocal and piano performance under UNO's Terrance Blanchard, Harold Battiste, and Leah Chase-Kamata, which continued the groundwork for her musical endeavors.
