Live Art Competition 2024

Calling all artists and art lovers - Brampton's Live Art Competition invites all artists to showcase their talents in Downtown Brampton for an exiting day of creativity and a chance to win amazing prizes!

The 8th Annual Live Art Competition takes place on Saturday, August 17 with competitors starting at Gallery 35, 35 Queen St. West - Downtown Brampton.

Artists will have the opportunity to paint at a location of their choice in the downtown core, giving spectators a chance to watch the works come alive throughout the morning. Working on a 16"x20" sized canvas or watercolour paper in their favourite medium.

Registration Opens on July 1st, 2024 at 5PM.

This event is a rain or shine event so come prepared for weather conditions and to have fun enjoying some beautiful art and meeting some amazing artists.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Live Art Adults: This call for entry is open to all artists 18 YEARS + living in Ontario.

Live Art Youth: This call for entry is open to all artists 13 to 17 Years , living in Ontario.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Downtown Brampton has 5 municipal parking garages — below City Hall, the Rose Theatre most notably. All garages are free for the first hour and operate Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lots are free after 7 p.m. on weekdays as well as on weekends.

What can I bring into the event?

Artists must bring their own equipment and materials including a mat and support for watercolour paintings. Please bring protection for surfaces at the location of your preference. (i.e. drop cloth)

Display of work for judging details needed i.e. No frames will be allowed on pieces submitted for judging. For works on watercolour, artist must provide their own mat.

What's the refund policy?

Non-refundable Fee.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Online registrants must bring bring a copy of the ticket, could be helpful in speeding up registration. If you are attending this event as an Observer the event is FREE for you so no Ticket is required.
