This six day course is for youth aged between 13 - 17 who are curious to explore their performative muscles and connect with likeminded teenagers. You will journey through different fields of acting with varying important exercises and approaches in a safe and fun environment. Our coaches will support and encourage the students in delving into their own unique creative expression both physically and emotionally.
About The Event
We believe that in the heart of creativity is openness, curiosity and playfulness. These are the vital traits which we must cultivate and harness to enhance our capability as actors. At Actors Academy, we believe in allowing these qualities in the young performer to shine through.
By giving our students the tools they need to harness those traits, we inspire them to grow and evolve towards creativity, gently guiding them, and giving them the essential foundation they need to flourish both personally as well as an actor moving towards pursuing their dreams.

We aim to help the student to access and express their own creative voice and build confidence within that. You are welcome everyone as they are and there is no need for previous experience. All that is needed and requested from the student is curiosity and openess.
Youth Academy will guide you through basic Meisner Technique, Cold Reading, Voice and Movement as well as Camera Acting and Improvisation. At the end of the course, we will film and edit the final scenes and each student will get their copy.
The teaching language in our AAF Youth Academy is English, but we encourage all level English speakers to apply.

COURSE CONTENT

MEISNER TECHNIQUE
The capacity for emotional intelligence and presence is a highly valued skill in today's world, not only in acting platforms but in any types of relationships and interactions. Meisner Technique helps the student to live in the moment and to access and express one's truthful impulses and feelings based on their partners behaviour, through exploration of the famous 'Repetition' and 'Independent Activity' exercises. The technique will help you to start living truthfully under created imaginary circumstances - whether on stage or screen.

COLD READING
Taking a scene off the page in a short time is an essential skill for any actor. This fun part will help the student to bring an unseen script to life, get it up on it's feet and build the student's faith to work simply in the moment.

IMPROVISATION
Improvisation is one of the core techniques in performing because it pushes the actor to live fully in the moment, trust in team work and lean on imagination and risk taking. It also enhances creativity and activates the actor's non-judgmental mentality which is the essential for any kind of creative flow to happen. Improvisation is a fun way to dive into the endless possibilities of connection and the fun of performance.

MOVEMENT
Movement is our signature. In acting, it can reveal us the character’s inner world, and offer the audience the possibility to understand who that person is. With physical and dance methods, one can accentuate emotional preparation and vice versa. Movement practices are ways one can learn to use the body to communicate, to relax or tense, find center, balance and ways to fill and move in space. Through movement one can cultivate imagination, awaken the senses, allow vulnerability to occur, feel comfortable within the uncomfortable, work with breathing, and understand how intention is carried out by the body and voice.

VOICE
It’s well documented that the most highly regarded professional acting trainings put an enormous emphasis on voice and movement. Acting training is better enhanced by a thorough understanding of one's instrument (the body). Therefore In this workshop series, Darren will introduce the students to his methodologies surrounding the voice and how we can better affect our audience through remaining more present, resonant and articulate.

INTRODUCTION TO TV AND CAMERA ACTING
This workshop covers TV and Film Acting, offering a practical introduction to the skills and techniques relevant within these mediums. Monika will guide you through on-camera acting exercises with instant playback in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
