About this Event
Inspired by the exhibition , these workshops explore memory, and culture from an Indigenous Australian First Nations perspectives.
Kids will participate in an activity that connects food with the environment using memories from cultural events, holidays, family gatherings or even favourite snacks. The artist, Merindah Funnell, will guide kids and conversation on where the ingredients come from, as they use oil pastels and wax crayons to draw their favourite meals.
These drawings will then be used to track and map out the food supply chain, with watercolours for both workshops.
The goal is to get kids thinking about where their food comes from, develop empathy for the environment, and learn to give thanks to Country and place.
Parents and carers are welcome to join in on the fun!
