Ready, set… READ! 🚀
It’s time to launch a lifelong love of reading! Families with young children are invited to take part in this exciting early literacy extravaganza filled with fun, freebies, and fantastic community resources.
📚 Sign your child up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through Bullitt County Public Schools along with BCPL's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative—two powerful programs that support early reading success from birth onward!
🎉 Kids will receive a free book to kick off their reading journey; enjoy fun photo ops; and fuel up with a light breakfast featuring donuts, muffins, fruit, and more.
🎭 Don’t miss the main event: a live performance of Pete the Cat by StageOne starting at 11:00 AM! This groovy blue cat brings big laughs, big heart, and a big adventure to the stage as he helps second-grader Jimmy Biddle rediscover his creativity.
Let’s blast off into a world of stories—one page at a time.
🕙 EVENT SCHEDULE:
10:00–11:00 AM – Breakfast, activity stations, photo ops, program sign-ups
11:00 AM–12:00 PM – Pete the Cat live performance by StageOne

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book-gifting program that mails a free, high-quality book every month to children from birth to age five—no strings attached. It’s a simple, powerful way to build early literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.
ABOUT BCPL's 1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
Bullitt County Public Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages families to read together—early and often! For every 100 books read, your child earns a prize on the way to reaching 1,000 books before starting school. Reading aloud builds language skills, curiosity, and special moments that matter.
ABOUT STAGEONE FAMILY THEATRE
StageOne brings professional, kid-friendly theater to life with performances that entertain, inspire, and spark imagination. With stories that speak to kids of all ages, StageOne helps make the magic of live theater accessible and unforgettable.
Ages 0–5. Just drop in!
Seating and information will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
