About this Event
Welcome to Little Hands Big Hearts fundraiser event in Support of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Expressive Arts and Therapies!
My Dear Friend,
This year has been one of the hardest our family has ever faced. Our daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, and much of our time has been spent at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) for her treatments. During this journey, we discovered a special place that became a refuge for us: the Creative Oasis, the art and music room open to all patients at the hospital. It was here, surrounded by colors and melodies, that we found a sense of peace and hope in the midst of uncertainty.
Each week, we would go to the Creative Oasis to visit the resident artist Ralph and each week the incredible art therapists from CHLA’s Expressive Arts and Therapies Program would visit us, bringing with them a light that lifted our spirits. Through their gentle guidance and creative activities, they helped my daughter express emotions she couldn’t always put into words, and in turn, helped us as a family cope with the challenges we were facing.
This program is entirely donor-funded, which makes it all the more special. It exists because people care, because people believe in the healing power of art, and because they want to give children like our daughter a way to find beauty and hope even on the hardest days. We want to help ensure that this program continues to be available for the many other children who need it.
That's why we are raising funds for the Expressive Arts and Therapies Program, so that it can continue to bring comfort, creativity, and healing to the children who walk through those hospital doors every day. We hope you’ll join us in supporting this beautiful cause, and in giving more kids the opportunity to experience the magic of art and music during their toughest battles.
Come join us at Plaza de la Raza for a day filled with fun and kindness. This event is all about spreading love and joy through various activities and crafts.
