We invite all aspiring debaters, their debate coaches, as well as our senior debaters and debate alumni to join us for the Lithuanian Schools Debating Novices (LSDN) 2024. This annual novice-oriented tournament aims to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for newcomers to develop their debating skills, meet like-minded friends-to-be, and foster a love for curiosity, critical thinking, and public speaking.Co-Conveners: Edita Jančauskienė & Aidas Pranckevičius

Info Slide: A carbon credit is a permit that allows the holder to emit a certain quantity of greenhouse gases, typically one credit representing one metric ton of CO2 or its equivalent. Both direct actions (e.g., burning natural gas for heating) and indirect actions (e.g., taking flights, purchasing specific products) contribute to overall emissions. Carbon credits are generally issued to companies, which can buy and sell them in a market aimed at incentivising reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

🛍️ PREPARATION 🛍️
This year, Lithuanian Schools Debating will host a series of online training sessions featuring Q&A segments led by our alumni, aimed at helping debaters enhance their skills and knowledge. We will kick off the season with a four-session cycle specifically designed for novice debaters preparing for upcoming events. These introductory sessions will cover essential debating techniques, strategies, and best practices. Additionally, all beginner debaters are strongly encouraged to participate in these and future training sessions, as they offer valuable opportunities for growth and development beyond their debate clubs.

After pre-registering, you will receive an invoice for the participation fee at the email address you provided. Once the invoice is accepted and/or payment is completed, your registration will be finalised and confirmed. Please note that this year, we will only accept fee payments via bank transfer; cash payments will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances. Thank you for your understanding!
Note on speaker eligibility:
The tournament is primarily aimed at inviting beginner debaters who have recently started debating, preferably this year. However, if a debater began debating prior to that and has not participated in any major Lithuanian debate events (such as LSDC, LSDA, or past editions of LSDN), they will still be eligible to participate in this year’s LSDN.
